Reproduction of Hatchery-Reared Pike-Perch (Sander lucioperca) Fed Diet with Low-Marine-Ingredients: Role of Dietary Fatty Acids

چکیده
This research aimed to evaluate the reproductive potential of hatchery-reared (F1) pike-perch (Sander lucioperca) broodstock fed a commercial diet with low levels long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (Lc-PUFA) and wild (F0) forage fish. Reproductive parameters, including pseudogonadosomatic index (PGSI), egg size, latency time, hatching rate, embryo survival, eggs’ acid (FA) composition, as well plasma sex hormone, glucose immunoglobulin after hormone injection, were analyzed. The results showed PGSI (10% in F1 vs. 14% F0) survival (24% 61% broodstock, but satisfactory rate (63% 78% larval size (4.6 mm 4.7 F0). A arachidonic (ARA) percentage fish eggs (1.32%), along increased (17.31 g/L), suggests that immune system activation might have depleted reserves ARA fish, which is key for successful oocyte maturation. We assumed administration more sustainable diets, based on terrestrial plant ingredients, not inferior higher-quality diets marine ingredients.

متن کاملGenome Sequence of a Ranavirus Isolated from Pike-Perch Sander lucioperca
The pike-perch iridovirus (PPIV) was isolated in Finland from apparently healthy pike-perch fingerlings during routine disease surveillance. Our phylogenomic analysis revealed that PPIV is the first fish member of a clade of ranaviruses previously described from European and Chinese amphibians.

This study was conducted in order to investigate genetic diversity and population structure of pike-perch in the Northern part of Iran. For this purpose, 207 adult pike-perches from four regions of the Caspian Sea watershed (Talesh Coasts, Anzali Wetland, Chaboksar Coasts and Aras Dam) were collected. DNA was extracted and by using 15 pairs of microsatellite primers, Polymerase Chain Reaction (...
متن کاملIsolation of an iridovirus from pike-perch Stizostedion lucioperca.
We have isolated a large virus from pike-perch Stizostedion lucioperca fingerlings with no signs of disease. The biochemical structural, and serological properties of this newly isolated virus suggest that it belongs to the family Iridoviridae. The virus multiplied and was cytopathogenic in several cultured fish cell lines. The virus has a DNA-containing genome and is assembled in the cytoplasm...
متن کاملEffect of different levels of dietary Betaine on growth performance, food efficiency and survival rate of pike perch (Sander lucioperca) fingerlings
A 6-week feeding experiments were carried out to determine the effects of different levels of dietary betaine on growth performance, food efficiency and survival rate of pike perch which has a critical period during transition feeding. Fingerlings of pike perch were fed with live food (treatment A), without betaine added to biomar (treatment B), 1% betaine added to biomar (treatment C...
